Interview of F. Martin
Biotech Executive Talent Management
Who are you?
I have always been very interested in Sciences, High-Tech and Economy : I have an educational background in these fields and strong management experience in Life Sciences. I was working mainly in Switzerland except 2 years in Boston/Cambridge (MIT) and 3 years in Japan.
I was long with Roche and always very impressed by the former CEO, Fritz Gerber, who explained his success in heading 2 major international corporations at the same time (Roche and Zurich Insurance) by choosing the right executive team. I have remembered it when I have decided to move to executive search ten years ago
What is your actual vision of the world?
The success of a biotech depends on science, funding and the team. I am here to help you with this last topic, finding the best professional profiles for your specific objectives. The first step towards a successful mission is to understand the needs of the client and to define the best strategy, analyzing with you the required skills and the personality characteristics of the ideal candidates. My headhunter and management experience in the Life Sciences industry allows me to be specifically qualified for missions in this field which requires a very high degree of expertise.
What is your dream?
My passion : to give clients the best advices and to find the required talents, thus to contribute to their success.
Can you explain your objective with Le Campus?
Le Campus is a good tool to share experience on critical talent aquisition/management challenges for biotechs. I hope to raise awareness about these challenges and to provide ways to manage them, but also to learn from the experience of participants.
What message do you want to share to the managers that will listen to you on Le Campus?
There are very specific challenges in talent aquisition for young biotech and it is critical to their success to be very careful in addressing them
